The blog, THE GREEN LEAP FORWARD, has included a retrospective about the Climate Change Symposium on May 31st titled ‘Xiamen City, Urban Planning for Climate Change‘.
The blog reacts to the Xiamen Climate Change Symposium held on 10th May, with researches into CDM project nature and its obstacles, as well as Xiamen as the testbed for Bundling and Programme Of Activities for CDM projects.
Raoul would be at the Swedish Museum of Architecture on 23rd September, 2008.
The lecture, titled ‘Climate Change Incubators/ cybernetic urbanism in China and the UK‘, will introduce both the Urban Gallery, the deeper background of handling complexity linked to the context of cybernetics as developed by people such as Stafford Beer and Gordon Pask, and show two case projects in progress: the Climate Change Incubator proposals for the Taiwan Strait, a cross-boundary Incubator project for prototype projects; and for the Thames Gateway in the UK. The core question the lecture addresses is how can the issue of Climate Change be tackled through new thinking in urban design.
