CHORA architecture and urbanism is a master-planning and architecture office that was established in 1994. It has developed a specialisation in the management of complex situations, in which multiple stakeholders with very different interests occupy a territory.
CHORA architecture and urbanism has experience in planning, urban design and architecture. It is currently working with clients in the Netherlands on six projects, including a large housing project, master planning and public space projects, in Taiwan with the city of Taichung, in China with the city of Xiamen, and in Germany with the city of Hamburg.
CHORA has won a range of prizes on large scale urban projects including 1st Prize for Tempelhof urban ideas competition in Berlin, 2nd Prize for the New Suburb competition in Copenhagen, 3rd Prize for the Arhus harbour front competition, Arhus, Denmark, and the winning entry for the Schuytgraaf public space competition, a project currently in preparation for construction.
Recently CHORA has become a specialist in bringing urban design and energy planning together and has initiated innovative methods to coordinate ranges of energy efficient and renewable energy in cities and regions.
